Clip Studio is an amazing art program with lots of benefits for every artist. However, some need more than others which is what I’m going to talk about. The main difference between PRO and EX. Both of the features are great but finding out with is better for you is key. Let’s start with the pro version.
Pro is exactly like it state its PRO!! Meaning this version is for someone who wants to take their art to the next level. This version is for the professional, the illustrator, or someone who want to do art as a long-term hobby. The two major feature that separates the Pro version from the basic one is two things: Drawing in vector format and customizing the tools.

Vector drawing is a life-saving tool as it allows an artist to update their linework with ease. On top of that with vector, the width can be changed using clip studio, which is super helpful for producing line weight in a drawing.

The customizing tool might sound weird, but it is an important tool for every digital artist. Image only having one type of pencil for the rest of your life. No color, no line weight, nothing. That why customizing your tools is super important. Being about to customize your workspace is a need for any artist.
What about the EX version you may be asking? Say no more because we're talking about that next.
A level beyond pro, super pro, mega pro, maximum ultra pro?! Well, clip studio just calls it EX, and there are three major reasons to get EX: Managing a file of multiple pages, LT conversion of a 3D model and 2D data, Printing and exporting a book of multiple pages. But wait there more the features listed for the pro, are in the EX version as well, but here is the EX exclusive features:

Managing a file of multiple pages is important for a manga artist. To be able to see all pages at once, and edit on the fly. This feature is the selling point if the EX version and is critical for every manga artist.

LT conversion of a 3D model and 2D data is a clunky but time-saving feature. This allows the user to import 3D models into Clip Studio and use the lines from the model. So instead of drawing a desk over and over, you can just copy paste the desk in.

Printing and exporting a book of multiple pages another selling point to the EX version but no one talks about it. This feature allows batch importing and export of pages. Again another time saver, but an important feature none-the-less.
This explains all the feature of the PRO and EX version. Each version is a one time fee on the desktop version and these features are exclusive as of July 2019. Who knows what other feature will be added, but for now at least you’ll have a better understanding of which version to get.
